The Navy Tape

The body fat percentage is the ratio between a person's total body fat and total mass (commonly known as weight).

This calculator uses The Navy Tape Measure Method to help determine the body fat percentage.

Please measure your height, neck, waist and hips if you are a woman. If you are a man, please measure your height, neck and abdomen.

The formula for determining the body fat percentage for an adult is defined as:
\(BFP\) \(=\) \(a\) \(\times\) \(\log_{10}(b)\) \(-\) \(c\) \(\times\) \(\log_{10}(height)\) \(+\) \(d\)
\(BFP\): Body fat percentage
\(neck\): the circumference of you neck
\(waist\): the circumference of you waist
\(hips\): the circumference of you hips
\(height\): your height measured in centimeter
\(age\): your age measured in years
The SI unit for BFP is: \(%\)
